Google Charleston East

Project Description

Charleston East headquarters accommodates 3,000 staff under a vast catenary roof covering approximately 595,000 sq ft. The steel canopies are inspired by aircraft hangars and feature custom photovoltaic panels generating substantial energy. Rainwater harvesting is used for sustainability, producing nearly 3 million gallons of reusable water annually. The lightweight canopy interior has a large open floor plate with multiple platforms, while interstitial courtyards and support facilities are located beneath the principal office floor. This design provides spatial variety and socializing areas. Charleston East anticipates the rapidly evolving needs of the industry, keeping pace with the increasing demand for adaptable office solutions.
